 Stable - 1.6.2

The latest stable release is 1.6.2, for details see the ChangeLog.

Source

The source files may be downloaded:-

multi-gnome-terminal-1.6.2.tar.gz (1874905 bytes)
MD5sum = cbde3f9c06e95d53a28027599f3a08c2
multi-gnome-terminal-1.6.2.tar.bz2 (1616529 bytes)
MD5sum = 52b65d2326efc4273716383b0196e95f

Binary

Red Hat 7 rpm: multi-gnome-terminal-RH7-1.6.2-1.i386.rpm (1495078 bytes)
MD5sum = f1678dd51e4c68f087a6f6117b37a55f

Red Hat 8 rpm: multi-gnome-terminal-RH8-1.6.2-1.i386.rpm (1502478 bytes)
MD5sum = 29fa760faa4d0cc76b96a4b049461524

Note:
Red Hat distribution has peculiar termcap/terminfo entries with respect to other linux distributions so you need to get the rpm specifically for Red Hat if you want all keys (for example Home/End) to work properly in MGT.

X86 binaries tarball

If you do not have an rpm-based distribution, you can always use the following tarball: multignometerm-x86-1.6.2.tar.gz (2033153 bytes)
MD5sum = e3f312df8ed41f302aec095ddb9c89b8
'su', untar it (the files will extract to a directory named ./mgt_install), then:

  • su
  • cd  mgt_install
  • ./install.sh

To execute the program, type: multi-gnome-terminal ... and enjoy! To uninstall the program, you have to run the script uninstall.sh which is in the installation directory too.

 Build instructions
To build the program from source, simply do:
  • cd multignometerm
  • ./configure
  • make
  • make install

If you have problems with the gtk test, use the option --disable-gtktest and if you want an installation directory different from /usr/local then use the option
--prefix=<installation_dir>.

To compile the sources you need at least
  • gnome-libs-1.0.59
  • gdk-pixbuf-0.7.0
  • gtk-libs  1.0.9

NOTE:
If you have a Red Hat distribution, you need to type:
export CFLAGS=-DREDHAT_TERM
before running ./configure
In this way all keys such as Home/End will work properly. In fact RH has peculiar termcap / terminfo entries.
